In 1889, the Mayor of Joliet, Patrick C. Haley, envisioned a "Castle on the Hill", overlooking the city. He commissioned Frank Shaver Allen, a nationally known architect and Egyptologist, to design the massive limestone structure that took two years to complete. Today, standing three and one half stories, the stately Mansion offers unequaled beauty and superb cuisine for any special event.
